Staring up into the dead sky feeling alone, but with a slight sense of security and contentment, is precisely where you imagine yourself when listening to "In N Out", which may not seem like the obvious choice of location given the title. The first single off Dylan's 2020 self-released record, Settlers Adrift, immediately showcases a mature tone, with addictive guitar swirls, and a bleak story asking for, and receiving, attentiveness. “It’s hard out here for a truck driver...” frontman Chad Bice snarls as you’re imagining yourself in the dead heat, still staring at the aforementioned dead sky. You’re lonely, but you’re not afraid.
